Skincare can feel overwhelming with all the advice, trends, and miracle claims floating around. Amid the sea of information, certain myths have taken root, leading to confusion and, sometimes, ineffective or even harmful routines. Let’s set the record straight: what’s one skincare myth you wish people would stop believing?

  1. Vaseline will grow your lashes. It could clog your skin and make your eyes infection.
  2. Applying collagen to the skin makes your skin firm
  3. Oily skin doesn't need moisturizer. Actually oily skin need more moisturizer. Skipping moisturizer can actually cause the skin to overproduce oil to compensate for dryness.
  4. Natural ingredients are always better. Not all natural ingredients are safe for skin (e.g, lemon juice, baking soda)
  5. Expensive skincare is always better. Price doesn't guarantee effectiveness. Many affordable products work just as well as high-end ones.
  6. Acne is cause by dirty skin. Acne actually influenced by hormones, genetics and other factors.
  7. Drinking water solves all skin problems. Staying hydrated is important but most of skin issues require proper treatment other than drinking water
  8. Washing face every hour for an oily skin.
  9. Using your period blood to heal acne.
  10. Saying that you can shrink your pores. Actually your pores are one size. They cannot physically shrink but you can minimize the appearance of them. They appear larger when they have debris build up and appear smaller when they're cleaned.
