My Review
This book is a fable about the mix feelings of our emotions. A story about Conor who forces to be matured before his time. Conor, a boy whose mother is severely ill. He starts to have weird dreams, following, an appearance of a tree-monster from the nearby cemetery. The monster is to tell a few tales and at the end of it, he has to tell the truth about his nightmares to him. So as the days go by, it becomes more challenging for him to confront reality. I love how the story has a twisted plot that will change the ending of every story that been told by the tree. For a moment I thought that the tree comes to Conor because of the tales but actually Conor himself that called the tree. Instead, the monster is a well-executed manifestation of perceived guilt towards a deeper truth. A good book to read.
